French Butter Crock, Rustic White Butter Keeper with Handle, Ceramic Butter Crock

This French Butter Crock is perfect for serving soft butter at the breakfast table with your freshly baked bread.
Fill the base with approx. 30 ml ( 1 Fl oz. ) of fresh water and the inner container with butter, and you can keep your butter fresh and soft for weeks without having to refrigerate it. You don't need too much water because the two parts fit snuggly together. To ensure the butter's freshness, replace the water every 2 to 3 days.
I glazed these Butter Crocks in my refined white matte glaze to create a subtle contrast to the natural beige color of the clay.

One keeper has a wide and aesthetic handle on its lid to allow for an easy grip. You can turn it on this handle when you spread butter and it will stand balanced and steady.
I recently made a slightly smaller keeper for those who spread a thinner layer of butter on their toast.

The " Swirl " is a new option which I just recently added, and which is becoming quite popular. While making a handle of one keeper I inadvertently created a swirl and thought WOW, I need to make more of these. Of course, each swirl is unique and I couldn't recreate one even if I wanted to ( which I don't!! ).

These crocks contain 150 grams or 5.5 ozs of butter which is approx. 3/4 cup or one and a half sticks of butter.
The smaller crock contains 120 grams or 4.2 ozs of butter which is one and a quarter sticks of butter.

My work is designed and created with much love, always with the utmost consideration for its use.
This item is made from ceramic stoneware and is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit).
It is glazed with lead-free and food safe glazes and is ideal for use in the oven and microwave but not over an open flame.
It is dishwasher safe.
If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That's the beauty of handmade objects.
I work alone and hope you understand that creating new items will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
